The architectural style that appeared in Gijón from 1950 shows a clear restoration of the modern spirit that was cut short by the Spanish Civil War. Through the work of seventeen architects that lived in the town at this time, Gijón's rich architectural heritage is uncovered, a heritage which, in no small part, has been altered or disappeared. Furthermore, this legacy is extremely vulnerable because it has not been catalogued and, consequently, lacks administrative protection.
