This book deals with an event more typical of a work of fiction than of a historical reality in the height of the early modern period: the supposed bewitching of Carlos II, and the subsequent inquisitorial trials against those who were involved in the matter. Among them were the nuns of the nunnery of Cangas de Tineo, who claimed they had visions which could prove the bewitching of the King.
