César is also a bag-piper and a gold panner. He represented Spain in eighteen championships of gold panner around the world. For the ones who do not know, Navelgas and gold pannering are linked long ago. César, aforesaid, is really involved with his people, that is why he does gold pannering. The bag-pipe has accompanied him through the five continents, more than twenty-five countries where he has spread the sounds of Asturias.
Due to that turns of life, he has come back to his origins. Now that a lot emigrate, he comes back home.
His taste for artistic expressions and tradition had led him to restart an aspect of his life that was always latent and now reveals, he came back to the forge.
His grandfather was a blacksmith, also his father. They hitted metal to made a way of living and cover the necessities of their neighbours, César Castaño does it in order to give free rein to his anxieties.
What he learnt by the warmth of the fire and paternal affection , Castaño turns it into an expression of a feeling of attachment to tradition that has shaped his and his folks life, but without confining. He is not a nostalgic of the past. His work brings us closer to that rural world that is still maintained as a testimony of a moment and a way of life.
God's challenge try to dominate Earth, Water, Fire and Air.
