The advantage of not being avant-garde or hanging from a coat hanger - because of obvious limitations and lack of motivation, is that you do not have to disguise one of those cryptic reviews in what seems to be a museum catalogue jargon, in order to present just twenty landscapes, painted half in wax crayon and the other half in pastel...
III Taller de fotografía. Colectiva.
The sea as a way of searching for yourself, the sea as a source of inspiration, the sea as a place for reflection, the sea as a source of life.
LA FUNDACIÓN ALVARGONZALEZ CON LOS CENTENARIOS DE COVADONGA.
The 10th of June of 1888, in the “Real Sitio de Covadonga”, the blessing of the battle flag of the battleship “Pelayo”, took place.
Defrayed by popular subscription, it was embroidered by a Ladies’ Board lead by Manuela Chávarri, wife of the brigadier Claudio Alvargonzález, with the participation of the Princess of Asturias.
In order to keep the flag, a monumental wooden piece of furniture was built, carved by the cabinetmaker Juan Antonio Muñiz. The piece of furniture guarded in the Covadonga Museum, is on display now in Gijón, coinciding with the celebration of the centenary of the Real Sitio.
Sara Candanedo
Sara Candanedo presents in her exposition a collection of paintings that with long strokes and a mixture of tonalities and lights, transport people to a more real Asturias, in an impressionist halo that surrounds all the landscapes, marinas and fragments that you can visit through her work...

“Colours are acts of light. Colours and light, it is true, stand in the most intimate relation to each other, but we should think of both as belonging to Nature as a whole, for it is Nature as a whole which manifests itself by their means in an especial manner to the sense of sight".
-Johann Wolfgand Von Goether, in his "Theory of Colours"...
Fernando DIN Cueto
Fernando DIN Cueto (Gijón 1971) in search for the treasure, in Colunga, where he lives.
It is an exercise of artistic recycling in which nothing disappears, but instead gets a new form, of spare pieces of bigger works, with remnants of paint. An exercise of boxes that keep cuttings, which is still on the search of transforming the marbled treasure with wood ornaments, wires, and pantinings full of colours, while “I heard a funny thing” by Ioe is always playing…

Painting with watercolours is feeling excitement, travelling through roads, interacting with the environment and making it mine. I use this technique due to its fascinating behaviour, as water dilutes horizons, brings mountains closer, and, sometimes, surprises me bringing the pigment together in incredible and not foreseen marks. In this exhibition I propose a brief look to the world in which I live.
Pilar Suárez y Dolores Salas

Portraying and understanding the natural is complicated. This exposition is an acknowledgement of my immediate environment: Asturias and its flora.
What I have found once I have achieved enough calm to learn how to look, is my little tribute to the plant kingdom, to which we owe so much, and in which we do not spend enough time…
Grupo Acuarelastur
This is Acuerelastur’s first exposition as a watercolorist association.
In September of 2017 Acuerelastur was established. It emerged as a continuation of the work of a group of people who were lovers of the beautiful technique that is reflected in their papers, Asturias’ hideouts. The activity of a group of amateurs that enjoyed painting au plain air started maturing in meetings, demonstrations, collective expositions and, finally, in the establishment of the Acuarelastur association.
We are still working on the same project, but we are increasing the number of members and including people from different places other than Spain.

Born in Zaire (West Africa) in 1959. Her first works as an artist started when she moved to Gijón, where she later settled.
